Quotes

Every quote lists design work and printing separately, with price and turnaround together. A quote holds for 14 days. Nothing is made until you approve it. Printed orders have a $29 minimum. Approving a quote means you accept these terms for that job.

Each quote email has a private link to your quote. You can approve or decline there, or reply to the email. Only the most recent quote for a job can be approved, and only until it expires. Keep the link to yourself: anyone who has it can answer the quote.

If a job changes after you approve it, such as new dimensions, a different material or more copies, we send an updated quote before continuing.

Fit and test prints

When we make a part from measurements, photos or a broken original, we aim for a part that fits and works the way the original did. We tell you in the quote which dimensions matter most and how confident we are.

• For fit-critical parts we may suggest a quick test print first. It is quoted separately and usually costs less than a full part.
• If a part does not fit because we got a measurement wrong, we adjust the model and reprint at no charge.
• If it does not fit because the information we were given was wrong or incomplete, or the design changes, the revision is quoted as new work.

What we do not make

We do not make safety-critical parts: anything structural, holding pressure or fuel, involved in braking, steering, suspension or life support, or required to meet a safety certification. If a failure could hurt someone, it needs a certified part. We may also decline any job we do not think 3D printing can do well, and we will say so.

Use of printed parts

3D printed plastic behaves differently from molded or machined parts. It can soften with heat, wear, creep under constant load and weaken with sun exposure. We will recommend a material for how you plan to use the part, but you decide whether it is suitable for that use.

Our responsibility for any job is limited to reprinting the part or refunding what you paid for it. We are not responsible for damage to other equipment or for indirect losses from a part failing. This does not limit anything the law does not allow us to limit, including injury caused by our negligence.

Your original part

If you bring or mail us an original to measure, it stays at your risk while it is with us and in the mail both ways. Originals are often already worn or broken, and measuring can mark them. We handle them carefully, but we are not responsible if one is damaged or lost, so keep anything irreplaceable and send photos and measurements instead. We return it with your new part.

Designs and files

• Designs and files you bring stay yours. We use them only for your job.
• You confirm that you have the right to have the part made, and that it does not copy someone else's protected design without permission.
• When we create a 3D model for you, the price covers the printed part, and the model stays with us so reprints are quick and cheaper. The model file itself is available for an added fee. Ask in your quote request and we will price it up front. Once you buy it, you can use, change and print it for your own purposes, anywhere, but not sell or share the file or sell prints made from it.
• We will not show your part or project publicly without your permission.
• Need an NDA first? Email us before you send files and we will sign a reasonable one.

Payment, pickup and shipping

We may ask for a deposit before starting design work or large orders; the quote will say. The balance is due at pickup or before shipping. You can cancel at any time by email. If we have not started work, we refund the deposit in full; once we have started, it is not refundable. Pickup is in Bend by appointment. Shipped orders go at your cost, and we pack them carefully, but carrier damage is handled through the carrier's claim process.

Parts and originals not picked up within 60 days of being ready may be recycled after we have tried to reach you, and any deposit is kept.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version in effect when you approve a quote applies to that job. These terms are governed by Oregon law.
